BRCS participates in humanitarian law workshop in Saudi Arabia

The Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) participated in a specialised workshop entitled “International Humanitarian Law in Light of the Challenges of Humanitarian Response,” organised by the Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

During the workshop, the BRCS highlighted its experience in promoting international humanitarian law and presented its active role in training Society volunteers and raising awareness within the local community. The presentation also underscored the Society’s initiatives in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross and the National Committee for International Humanitarian Law in Bahrain.

These initiatives are designed to build and strengthen national capacities, broaden awareness, and reinforce respect for the principles of international humanitarian law across multiple sectors, including both government and private institutions.

The workshop brought together representatives of GCC Red Crescent Societies and Authorities, SRCA staff, and humanitarian and relief workers. It aimed to promote respect for international humanitarian law among employees and volunteers, encourage initiatives that uphold humanitarian values, strengthen commitment to those values, and address challenges in humanitarian work and health services through preventive measures.
