<\/p>\nThe Bahrain Red Crescent Society, in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross in Kuwait, has organized an advanced training course designed to prepare first aid trainers. The four-day programme was held at the Society\u2019s headquarters and aimed at qualifying a new group of specialized trainers in the field of first aid, with the goal of strengthening public awareness and improving community capacity to respond swiftly and effectively in emergency situations.
\nThe initial phase of the course placed a strong emphasis on the practical and medical aspects of first aid. Participants received comprehensive training on essential first aid guidelines, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques for adults, children, and infants, as well as the proper use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs). The course also covered a wide range of critical topics such as managing cardiac emergencies, airway obstruction, and identifying various medical and environmental emergencies including heat exhaustion, heatstroke, drowning, and complications related to diabetes, asthma, and epilepsy. Additional modules focused on the classification and treatment of burns, different types of poisoning, and essential first aid procedures for fractures, bleeding, and spinal injuries.
\nThe second phase of the training focused on the educational and instructional aspects of trainer preparation. Participants were introduced to the principles and importance of training in the field of first aid. The course offered insight into the various types of learners and the appropriate methods for engaging with them during training sessions. It also explored the cognitive, technical, and emotional attributes of an effective trainer. This phase included hands-on application and mastery of diverse training techniques, effective questioning strategies, and an in-depth understanding of behavioral patterns among trainees. The distinction between training and teaching was clarified, and participants were guided on how to distribute topics efficiently among trainee groups. The course concluded with a practical project, followed by performance evaluations and feedback sessions.
