The Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS), has trained more than 900 Bahraini volunteers to help fight Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, in cooperation and coordination with the Department of Civil Defense of the Ministry of Interior, and the Khalidiya Youth Society.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Society provided over eight weeks a remote training program for these volunteers, which included building their capabilities and enhancing their skills in providing first aid and preventive measures against COVID-19,\u00a0 in case that they volunteered in health quarantines and work with suspected or infected cases with the virus, in addition to sterilization operations and internal and external cleansing.<\/span><\/p>\n

This voluntary training program discussed several axes including the basics of first aid, infection control and disinfection, how to use and dispose of personal protective clothing, mixing chemicals for sterilization and disinfection operations, safety considerations, volunteer ethics, and first aid psychological.<\/span><\/p>\n

This program was presented in the morning and evening periods, and mainly held by the first aid committee of the Red Crescent Society supported by the youth committee in the society, where they provided their expertise to train and help the volunteers<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr. Mubarak Al Hadi, \u201cBRCS\u201d Director-General \/ Act General Secretary, said that this training program comes in response to the national calls to support in spreading the culture of volunteering and training applicants to serve the country to fight coronavirus.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe praise all the\u00a0 active and fruitful cooperation of all parties involved in the training process, which held by the elite trainers at the Red Crescent Society during the presentation of this program, and the Society will always be ready to provide help and assistance to the national efforts to combat COVID-19.\u201d Mr. Al Hadi added concluding his statement.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
