Secretary General of the Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) Dr. Mustafa Al-Sayed, the Chief Executive of Bahrain National Committee for Supporting the Palestinian People in Gaza, has signed an agreement with Palestine Red Crescent Society to treat100 injured people from Gaza at Palestine Hospital in Egypt in cooperation with Bahrain Red Crescent Society, Bahrain Medical Society and Egypt Red Crescent Society.
The agreement was concluded in line with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and under the patronage of RCO Board of Trustees Chairman Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The signing was attended by Bahraini Ambassador to Egypt Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa and Palestinian Ambassador to Egypt Jamal Al-Shobaki
Shaikh Nasser extended thanks to HM the King, the RCO Honorary President for his noble directives to stretch a helping hand to the Palestinian people in Gaza which reflect Bahrain’s unwavering stance towards the Palestinian issue.
He also praised the support of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister to RCO and Bahrain National Committee for Supporting the Palestinian People in Gaza.
He said the second phase of the rescue plan consists in reconstruction while the first phase, which has been completed, consisted in sending urgent rescue aid consignments to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people in Gaza after the brutal was waged by Israel in the strip.
On his part, the RCO Secretary General explained that the injured Palestinians will be transferred from Gaza to Cairo to receive the needed medical treatment .
He added that it has been decided to treat the war victims in Cairo due to the comprehensive medical infrastructure there and the great professional experience the medical staff have in dealing with the injured. Moreover, he noted, the move will tremendously reduce the treatment cost and save money to provide further support for the victims.
