Under the chairmanship of His Excellency Shaikh Khalid Bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, The Board of Directors of the Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS), has approved to assign Mr. Mubarak Al Hadi as Acting Secretary General of the Society in addition to continuing his current duties as the Society Director General.
This comes after the former Secretary General Dr. Fawzi Abdullah Amin took over his new obligations as Head of the Diplomatic Mission of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent (IFRC) to the Gulf Cooperation Council, and relocating to the United Arab Emirates to assume his duties in the International Humanitarian City (IHC) in Dubai.
Mr. Al Hadi has been a member of the Bahrain Red Crescent Society since 1972. He has been acting as the Director General of the Society, in addition to handling volunteers’ management, including Society’s committees.
Bahrain Red Crescent is a voluntary humanitarian relief organization founded in 1971 and was recognized internationally on September 14th, 1972 by the International Committee of the Red Cross in Geneva, in the same year BRCS joined the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
The Society works to achieve a number of objectives, including contributing with the partners in the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement in easing human suffering, providing social and humanitarian services consistent with the mission of the Red Crescent, working to spread the principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, training and qualifying volunteers for humanitarian work according to The principles of the international movement, contributing to spreading the international humanitarian law, and providing services and assistance to those in need.
