Bahrain Red Crescent Society launched its First Aid for Bikers Course who specify in workplace first aid training & community first aid skill tuition, as the principal instructor realized the lack or real understanding around dealing with biker specific accident had to be addressed.
The four-hours course was developed and tutored by experienced professional trainer with extensive knowledge of motorcycle related injuries, Mr. Kadhem Al Qallaf, and those skills can be passed on to bikers who attended the course from three local restaurants located in Budaiya.
Following completion of the course, participants were issued with certificates, first-aid label and a first-aid kit.
BRCS is expected to continue this training Course to all other delivery bikers in different regions of Bahrain. The society will also ensure that the instructions are provided to bikers and are updated as well as training new drivers.
The importance of this course is that bikers are all over Bahrain, and they are around us on the streets almost permanently, so their training on first aid makes them eligible to provide emergency assistance for any person injured in a traffic accident until the arrival of the ambulance.
Adopted for the first time in Bahrain, BRCS introduced the first aid for biker’s course to instruct them with first aid with limited resources available at the scene of an accident until further help arrives. This program is in line with the recommendations of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
