The committees of the Bahrain Red Crescent Society held their regular meeting at the headquarters of the Society in the presence of Mr. Adel Al-Jar, Assistant Secretary-General for Committees Affairs of the Society, and in the presence of the heads and members of the committees.
During the meeting, the performance of the committees during the year 2023 was reviewed, including the Public Relations Committee, the Members Affairs Committee, the Social Services Committee, the First Aid Committee, the Blood Donation Committee, the Health Awareness Committee, and Emerging & Youth Committee, and the most important achievements of these committees and their role in achieving the objectives of the association at all levels.
The meeting discussed the development of the Society’s work plan for the next year 2024, where the attendees stressed the importance of including a greater focus on intensifying practical training to respond to urgent relief appeals and equipping cadres and volunteers to be ready to deal with emergencies, crises and natural and health disasters, as well as coordination with executive agencies and with other civil institutions and international organizations to ensure cooperation and speed of information exchange and response, and organize qualitative events throughout the Kingdom and provide a favorable environment to attract more volunteers from Enhancing the Society’s international presence by participating in all conferences and meetings held by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, in addition to holding awareness programs and workshops targeting all segments of Bahraini society in order to improve the performance of the Society and achieve its humanitarian vision.
Mr. Adel Al-Jar, Assistant Secretary-General for Committees Affairs at the Bahrain Red Crescent Society, stressed the Society’s keenness to adopt the concept of strategic planning and develop future plans that enable it to move forward in activating its work to provide relief and humanitarian aid to the needy inside and outside Bahrain, noting that the plan for the next year 2024 supports the Society’s efforts and endeavors aimed at providing assistance to the needy and afflicted around the world, and highlighting the position of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of humanitarian services at the global level.
Mr. Al-Jar added that the Society will pay more attention through its new plan to opening more channels of communication with the International Committee of the Red Cross and other National Societies, attracting support and advocacy from donors to continue implementing activities and achieving the noble goals of the Society, improving the internal monitoring and evaluation system for committee members and developing key performance indicators and standards to measure the progress and effective achievement of each committee’s goals.
