The Bahrain Red Crescent Society recently participated in the 47th session meetings of the Arab Organization for the Red Crescent and the Red Cross in Qatar, alongside its member counterparts.
Mubarak Al Hadi, the Secretary-General of the Society, was elected as the Vice-Chairman of the 47th session of the organization. This appointment came as part of the administrative procedures of the meeting.
The secretary-general expressed that this appointment underscores the significant role fulfilled by the Bahrain Red Crescent in the realm of relief and humanitarian endeavors, encompassing its dynamic engagement in the activities of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization.
He emphasized the unwavering support of the Bahrain Red Crescent Society towards initiatives that bolster collective Arab efforts in the relief and humanitarian domain.
Al Hadi highlighted the importance of amplifying the contributions made by Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross societies and organizations in extending aid to those in need and afflicted globally.
He also emphasized the need to effectively respond to international appeals pertaining to areas affected by natural disasters, wars, and conflicts.
The secretary-general congratulated Dr. Saleh bin Hamad Al Tuwaijri, the Secretary-General of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization, for his reappointment to the esteemed position, reflecting the continued trust in his leadership to preserve and reinforce the unity of Arab humanitarian efforts.
He expressed his confidence in the organization’s capacity to advance its work and implement innovative initiatives and programs.
Al Hadi stressed the significance of the initiatives undertaken by Arab National Red Crescent and Red Cross Societies in strengthening the bonds among them, facilitating the exchange of knowledge experiences. These initiatives, according to him, serve as catalysts for enhancing the performance of all entities involved.
He emphasized the importance of promoting, facilitating, and encouraging ongoing communication between National Societies to foster the exchange of expertise, and to learn from successful practices and adopt the most effective approaches.
It is noteworthy that the meeting of the General Assembly of the Arab Red Crescent and Red Cross Organization in its forty-seventh session discussed the organization’s financial reports, committee reports, the environmental awareness and waste management investment initiative, the Arab Organization for Disaster Management project, and the volunteering platform project.
