The Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) participated in the 10th Asia Pacific Regional Conference that took place here from 11 – 14 November 2018 themed at “Engaging local humanitarian action in a fast-changing world”.
The conference saw a gathering of leaders, spokespersons and representatives from Asia Pacific and MENA National Societies, as well as observing National Societies as a platform to discuss strategic issues, common concerns and learn from each other’s diverse contexts.
The delegation was headed by BRCS Secretary General Dr. Amin Fawzi and with the participation of Head of Public Relations Mr. Ali Kadhem and Mr. Hussein Ali Akbar Member of Young & Youth Committee.
Crucial topics took the spotlight at the conference such as; engaging links with how Red Cross works to enable conditions for resilience through the work of volunteers, communities and parents; local humanitarian actions links one of Res Cross commitments from the World Humanitarian Summit and Grand Bargain for greater localization in resilience building, readiness, response and recovery; Fast changing environment links the Beijing Call for Innovation and Red Cross collective capacity to adjust to the rapidly transforming environment.
