The Bahrain Red Crescent Society’s First Aid Committee held its first meeting since its formation, headed by Dr. Kawthar Muhammad Al-Eid, a member of the Society’s Board of Directors, and attended by the Committee’s Vice-Chairman, Ms. Fatima Abdullah, and several members, at the Society’s headquarters in the Diplomatic District.
The committee addressed its next phase’s work plan in the context of improving the Bahrain Red Crescent’s position as an authority accredited by the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent in first aid training and the issuance of certifications to license First-Aid practitioners.
The committee also discussed mechanisms for expanding the provision of first aid training services to government, private, and civil institutions in Bahrain, as well as increasing the number of Bahrainis who have received qualitative training in this field and can provide first aid to those in need in any case and any location, such as home, work, or the street.
During the meeting, it was underlined the significance of expediting efforts to train first-aid practitioners as an important step toward expanding the committee’s services and increasing its availability to meet any training requests received by the Bahrain Red Crescent in this respect.
“I would like to extend my thanks and gratitude to the Bahrain Red Crescent Society’s Board of Directors and Executive Management for entrusting me with chairing the first aid committee, and I affirm that I will devote the necessary time and effort to advance this committee, achieve its goals, and meet the society’s aspirations,” According to Dr. Al-Eid
Dr. Al-Eid stated that first aid is critical for relief and humanitarian work in general, emphasizing the Bahrain Red Crescent’s readiness to train volunteers and keep them ready to assist the needy in the event of accidents or disasters.
