The Bahrain Red Crescent Society organized the third recreational camp for volunteers, with the participation of about 120 volunteers of the Society. The camp included several recreational programs such as a workshop on disaster concepts, games, activities and sports, in addition to an environmental tour to learn about the plants and the surrounding area, and others.
The training camp was coordinated by the public relations committee of the BRCS, while the programs were implemented by all the committees working in the society to revive a recreational atmosphere for the volunteers in order to strengthen the relations between the volunteers and refine their skills to live in the open during crises. It also included sports games with the aim of Promoting team spirit in volunteers.
Mr. Mubarak Al-Awali, The Acting Secretary-General of the Bahrain Red Crescent, General Director of the Society, said “this recreational camp is part of an integrated series of activities that the BRCS intends to organize periodically within the framework of its strategy to attract volunteers and build their capabilities”.
Dr. Fawzi Amin, a member of the BRCS Board of Directors, spoke with the volunteers in an open session about the general framework of the BRCS works, and the features of the Society’s strategic plan, pointing out that the purpose of these annual meetings is to create an atmosphere of familiarity between the volunteers for the utmost homogeneity between them.
Mr. Ali Moden, the head of the society’s public relations committee and camp coordinator, explained that this training camp comes within the framework of the of the BRCS public relations committee to activate the role of all volunteers by doing multiple meetings to rehabilitate and advance them, stressing the BRCS keenness to implement the plan for the current year 2020 by achieving a number of meetings ,training and educational activities throughout the year to raise the efficiency of its volunteers and provide them with the theoretical and practical skills necessary to fully perform their humanitarian duty.
