Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) has conducted a comprehensive assessment which included its work, statutes, strategic plan and its independence, leaderships and their geographical scopes, basic principles, policies, electoral and management systems, integrity and reputation risk management.
The assessment process aims to identify the BRCS aspects of strength and challenges faced to reach best recommendations for the development of BRCS humanitarian and relief work inside and outside Bahrain.
The assessment process was conducted according to an evaluation schedule developed by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, which is followed by 187 National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies around the world.
BRCS Sec-Gen, Dr. Fawzi Ameen, said the assessment process aims to evaluate the capabilities and performance of the national Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
He noted that BRCS seeks through conducting the assessment to earn the trust and support of wider range of society segments and to develop its services.
He added that the BRCS independent decision taken to participate in the assessment process highlights the BRCS commitment to upgrade its capabilities to ensure delivering its role and to be a key player in the development of humanitarian and relief work around the world.
