The First Aid Committee of the Bahrain Red Crescent Society organized a training course in “First Aid” for more than 40 volunteers belonging to the Society with the aim of qualifying them for the paramedic’s license, allowing them to intervene in accident cases and provide first aid.
The course was specifically aimed at young people who volunteered in the front lines in the face of the Corona pandemic at bahrain’s new international airport.
The course included two theoretical and practical aspects, and dealt with several topics, including dealing with burn injuries, fractures, CPR, transportation of the injured, bleeding and fainting.
Mr. Kadhm Al-Qalaf, Head of the First Aid Committee, said that this training reflects the bahrain Red Crescent Society’s keenness to intensify volunteer rehabilitation programs in various fields, including first aid, which is essential for relief and humanitarian work in general, and to keep them ready to provide support to those in need in the event of accidents or disasters.
Mr. Al-Qalaf added that this training comes within the framework of the association’s constant keenness to encourage its members and volunteers and in recognition of their good efforts in volunteering in general and what they did at Bahrain International Airport during the pandemic.
It is worth mentioning that the Bahrain Red Crescent Society worked in coordination with Bahrain International Airport Company to provide about 50 volunteers from its cadres, in the field of monitoring health cameras to examine those coming to and leaving the Kingdom of Bahrain and guiding them to the mechanisms used to conduct covid-19 tests, as part of the association’s active contribution in supporting national efforts to address the pandemic, and to provide the necessary assistance at various levels as a support group.
