The Bahrain Red Crescent Society (BRCS) held a training workshop for its volunteers on communicating with the deaf and mute with sign language.
The two-day workshop, held in cooperation with the Bahrain Deaf Society, aimed to train BRCS’ volunteers on ways of provide relief and assistance services more effectively to the deaf, whose number exceeded 8,000 in Bahrain.
It also aimed to promote the culture of dealing with the deaf in their work places and schools, as well as contribute to efforts to integrate people with disabilities in society.
