A delegation from Bahrain Red Crescent Society participates in the meetings of the General Authority for Red Crescent and Red Cross, represented by the Secretary General of the Society Dr. Fawzi Amin, and its Director General Mubarak Al-Hadi.
The meetings of the General Authority currently held in the Australian Capital Sydney include 185 representatives from the Heads of Red Cross and Red Crescent societies and organizations representing 189 countries all over the world.
During the seven days of the meetings, the participants are discussing the challenges and the optimum means of coordination at the level of the world in the areas of humanitarian and relief works in regions of conflict and tension, as well as the stricken areas around the year.
The participants also discuss developing the future course of the work of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.
Meanwhile, on the sidelines of the meetings, the Red Crescent Society held an exhibition on the agricultural charity project, of which the Society had launched in Bahrain to encourage local community for agricultural investment, particularly those with low-income.
In the meantime, the Security General of the Society, Dr. Fawzi Amin stressed the importance of Bahrain’s participation in shaping the outline of the relief work in the world through developing the work mechanisms of the Red Crescent and Red Cross, as well as exchanging experiences and expertise with delegates from most countries of the world.
In a related context, Dr. Amin congratulated the Saudi Red Crescent for Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s winning, for the first time in its history, a seat in the board of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies for Asia and the Pacific for period of four years.
Dr. Amin also congratulated the Japanese Tadateru Konoé, who was re-elected to the post of President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent for four years, expressing his wishes to strengthen coordination and cooperation between Kingdom of Bahrain and the Federation.
