A first batch of 4,500 units of clothing and footwear at a value of $30,000 has been donated by the Apparel Group for Syria and Türkiye earthquake victims as well as struggling local families.
The in-kind donation was received at the Bahrain Red Crescent Society’s (BRCS) headquarters in Hoora.
BRCS secretary-general Mubarak Al Hadi conveyed his gratitude to the Apparel Group for its benevolent donation and aid in furnishing essential provisions to the distressed families and individuals who suffered from the earthquake in Syria and Türkiye.
He also acknowledged the group’s unwavering dedication towards aiding the affected populace and its persistent pursuit of viable channels to efficaciously contribute towards mitigating the aftermath of this calamitous event.
He underscored the ardent determination of the BRCS to foster an expanded network of collaborations with a myriad of private sector institutions, partners, and supporters, while highlighting the joint campaign with GDN through #HelpThem
“This concerted effort is aimed at ensuring an uninterrupted continuum of crucial humanitarian assistance and relief provisions to the individuals and families afflicted by the deleterious effects of this earthquake.”
Apparel Group chief executive Neeraj Teckchandani said: “As a socially responsible organisation, we are deeply committed to giving back to the communities we serve. The recent earthquake in Syria and Türkiye has had a devastating impact on the affected communities, and we are honoured to be able to provide critical aid and support through our partnerships with Red Crescent Societies in Bahrain, the UAE and Qatar.

He added that as the group continues to support vulnerable communities in the region, it remains dedicated to aligning “our efforts with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals”.
