The Bahrain Red Crescent Society honoured its volunteers from various committees of the Society for their efforts during the year 2022, their distinguished volunteer activity and their active participation in the Society’s initiatives, projects and programs in various fields of relief and humanitarian work.
This celebration came at the initiative of the First Aid Committee to appreciate the efforts of volunteers and honour their sincere work throughout the year, which contributed to raising the level of growth of the Society and the application of policies of investing youth energies in an interactive work environment. The Society expressed its thanks to the Domain Hotel which hosted this event and provided all the necessary support for its success.
Dr Kawthar Al-Eid, Head of the First Aid Committee, said that this celebration comes within the framework of the Society’s constant keenness to encourage its members and volunteers and in appreciation of the good efforts they make in volunteer work. She stressed the Society’s keenness to develop plans and innovative policies that stimulate the sustainability of the growth of volunteer activity and achieve the objectives of the Society, which are in the interest of all affiliates.
Dr Al-Eid added that the Society is proud of the volunteer cadres in all the committees, pointing to the great role played by volunteers in the events and activities organized by the Society throughout the year and the importance of volunteering as a human value and that it is a symbol of civilization and progress and an essential element in the economic and social development process.
For her part, Ms Fatima Abdullah, Vice Head of the First Aid Committee, said that the Society’s attraction of volunteers aims to enhance their skills and capabilities in various fields and raise the percentage of public contribution to the national volunteer activity. She noted the accuracy of the Society in achieving optimal benefit from volunteer activity, which raises the productivity of the Society and volunteer cadres, as she stressed that the Society classifies volunteers according to their abilities to be used in the related events and programs, which strengthens their capabilities and expertise in their areas of interest.
Ms Abdullah explained that enriching volunteer work will empower community members and prepare a promising generation that values volunteer work and is passionate about community service. She added that the high percentage of volunteer work in the Bahrain Red Crescent Society reflects the vitality of community service in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the interest of young people to contribute to the national work process, stressing that the Committee’s initiative to honour the Society for volunteers aims to celebrate volunteers in recognition and appreciation of their great role in the success of the Society’s projects.
