The second Gulf Forum of Red Crescent Bodies and Societies, which was hosted by the Bahrain Red Crescent Society recently, recommended shedding more light on the qualitative efforts of volunteers in the Arab Gulf countries in the field of relief and humanitarian work, which emerged in particular during the Corona pandemic, and to see the distinctive experience of the Bahrain Red Crescent Society in this field.
The two-day forum also recommended unifying plans and strategies to attract young people as volunteers in the Gulf Red Crescent bodies and societies, in addition to strengthening the role of volunteer work in the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf as one of the tributaries of community development by communicating with groups of society and identifying their needs and helping governments to meet these needs.
At the conclusion of their work, the participants stressed the importance of strengthening ties between workers in this field at the Gulf level, in a way that contributes to directing the energies of the Gulf youth to serve their societies, in addition to instilling a love of volunteer work by deepening the bonds of communication between the owners of voluntary fingerprints of various generations.
They stressed the importance of holding more forums, courses, and workshops aimed at providing volunteers with field and administrative experiences in charitable and organizational work and directing human energies for the benefit of society through team building and self-development in multiple aspects that are beneficial to him and his community.
It is noteworthy that the second Gulf Forum for the Gulf Red Crescent Bodies and Societies was held under the title “Human Giving”, under the patronage of Mr. Ali bin Muhammad Murad, Vice President of the Bahrain Red Crescent Society. The first day of the forum was devoted to presenting working papers on volunteer teams in crises and disasters, and the second day To setting up training and rehabilitation programs for volunteers in every Gulf organization and society.
At the conclusion of their fifteenth meeting, which was held at the Advisory Board of the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf in Muscat, the heads of the Red Crescent bodies and societies in the Gulf Cooperation Council approved the strategic plan for the next five years for the Red Crescent bodies and societies, including eight axes centered on humanitarian and relief work And development at the regional and international levels, cooperation with relevant regional and international organizations, volunteer work, policies, legislation, laws, and regulations, in addition to the development of human resources, sources of funding, support, information, research, studies, information, and awareness.
