The Bahrain Red Crescent Society participated in the regional workshop “Volunteering in Arab Countries” organized by The United Nations Volunteers Program and the Regional Office of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in the Middle East and North Africa that took place in Amman, Jordan.
Dr. Kawther Al Eid, board member of BRCS, presented the workshop that aimed to discuss distinctive the importance of developing a new vision for volunteering in the Arab world.
The workshop stressed the importance of developing an individual’s sense of giving when he volunteers to serve his community and social environment, and provides an opportunity for organizations concerned with volunteering to enhance their contributions to development at the local, national and international levels to achieve the Millennium Development Goals and to achieve sustainable human development.
